Curves We Have

For those of us who were blessed with bodies full of curves, there is hope for the fashion industry yet. Many designers seem to forget the 17 Billion Dollar Industry of clothes for women with curves. This is not to say just Plus size Clothing, this is a wake up call for designers who continue to design clothes for the models on the runway without a curve in site.

Let's step away for a minute and take a look at a few great finds for those of us who care about our curves and want to look Fantabulous!

Get it together

People of Color must realize our Health is important.

It is crucial to our survival to take care of ourselfs and each other. Looking out for our young and elderly. Who else is going to do it? Surely it is not going to be the Patterson's, Schulz's, O'Farrel's, or Marioni's.

Us we must take care of each other.

What's Cooking

Hey Honey what's for dinner?
Mom! What are you baking for dessert?
Are you grilling ribs tonight?
Dad,are you basting brisket?

Not to often when you turn on the channel of the you favorite cooking show do you happen to see a woman of color. Through my travels throughout the world I have sampled some of the BEST cooking on the face of this earth from woman of color. So many times we are lost in the shuffle. I have a dear friend Christina of whom I met in Turkey, she is one of the most heartfelt, compassionate person I have met to date. She is smart and has the gift of patience beyond what my mind could possible wrap around until we met. She is a proud mother of two Super fantastic boys. Our families on occasion ate at each others home, since we had limited resource in our location. She was able to put things together I would have never thought of. Not only is she an educated woman, mother, wife, but she is an outstanding cook, who happens to have a parent who is Hispanic. Yet she is lost in the mix and does not have a show on any network.

Another dear friend of mine has one parent from Korea and the other from California(American). Diane is a wonderful Korean cook. Since she was able to expose my family to another cuisine of the Eastern World, Our favorite Food is Korean. The simpleness of it. The way the flavors are able to be brought our with just a pinch of this or that. The preparation of the meat itself is an art. The veggies are so wonderful before the main course my children often fight over who is going to get the last broccoli spear. Again, she does not have a show on TV.

Many times when we look at the networks with these different food shows the majority of the time you will see a man cooking. I have only seen a few shows with a man who is of another nationality other than white.

These words are not to make you think we dislike white people, it is to show that people of color are very much still in the dark. It reaches further than you think. This is to show so many nationalities bring so much to the American table and yet are not able to be seen by the majority of the public.

We just want to show there is more than one side of the paper, the paper may be white but the words are black, how else would you know what was going on if not in another color.

God made us different to enjoy each other not for us to hate one another because of our skin color, hair, height, weight, smile, facial features, or creed.

Take a minute to look at other people point of view, your perception may not be the reality.
